Now in its second year as Europe’s pioneering LLM program for working lawyers, the Executive LLM Program offered by Northwestern University School of Law and IE Business School offers graduate legal education that combines the Anglo-American common law and its application in European and international practice with management fundamentals vital to the practice of law for business clients.

The Executive LLM Program is designed primarily for working lawyers with a civil-law background, who seek additional knowledge and skills in business administration and the common law. Its main appeal is to those lawyers who must continue their careers while they study and master a broad range of legal and analytical skills.

The program has a duration of one academic year, beginning in September and ending in May of the following year. Within this time, there are three intensive on-campus periods of approximately two weeks each - two in Madrid and one in Chicago – plus additional academic work using our on-line course platform.

This unique partnership between two of the world’s leading law and business schools makes it possible for participants to earn the Master of Laws (LLM) degree from Northwestern University School of Law and the certificate in Business Administration awarded by IE Business School.
